Welcome!

I’m Laura, a qualified teacher and PhD graduate who has always loved physics, science and maths. I’ve been tutoring since 2018 and have completed over 1000 hours of sessions. Whilst helping students better understand the underlying concepts I share my enthusiasm. Through discussion I find where difficulties lie before gently disentangling any misconceptions.

My Qualifications

My initial physics degree was an MSci at Queen Mary, University of London. Following this, I was a research assistant for a year with the University of Cambridge before going on to complete my PhD as part of the SOFI Centre for Doctoral Training at the University of Edinburgh. As I wrapped up my PhD I helped out in tutorials for first year mathematics courses before beginning tutoring in 2018. Since then I have tutored over 1000 hours. I then went on to complete my PGDE in Physics and Science at the University of Edinburgh, and since fully qualified as a school teacher.
